Balint Zsako is a Canadian artist born in 1979 in Budapest, Hungary to Anna Torma, a textile artist and Istvan Zsako, a sculptor and painter. His family emigrated to Canada in 1988 and he now lives and works in New York city (here).
Zsako is well known for his paintings - fine, black-ink detail outlining bright shocks of colour - but his new work indicates an aesthetic reinvention. At first glance, his new collages look like oil paintings straight out of the 16th century (here).
