A Dali inspired melted VINYL RECORD EGG

Here in the middle of the Mojave Desert, it can get really hot. "How hot?" you ask. Hot enough to fry a record on the sidewalk!

Fun photos by Botielus aside, I don't recommend you display this particular egg outside, as it may melt even more. And then it wouldn't balance over the edge just so, as it does now. To make matters stickier, I glued a grippy strip of black rubber on the underside, so it can even hang loose off a smooth ledge without slipping.

The LP was released by "Manic Scenes" in 1985 on The Weird Turn Pro Records, and the label may be read in its original cholesterol yellow state, sealed with a couple layers of clearcoat. I did the back one too, so the artwork is water-resistant and may be wiped occasionally with a damp cloth to keep it dust-free.
