Egg Bowl

The Battle of the Golden Egg (nicknamed the Egg Bowl) is an annual college football game between in-state rivals, the Mississippi State University (MSU) Bulldogs and the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) Rebels.
The rivalry between the two teams has raged on since 1901, but it wasn't until 1927 that the games between these two schools earned the title of "the Battle for the Golden Egg," also known as the Egg Bowl.

Essayez donc !

Natural Design

When it comes to the art of egg decoration,
Mother Nature is the original master.

The patterns and lines that adorn many eggs - like those of murres, grackles, and jacanas - are positively calligraphic. These markings, which get their pigment from bile acids and broken-down red blood cells, are applied during the tail end of the 20 hours during which the egg is in the shell-gland region of the oviduct. A shell that emerges encircled with wispy streaks (above) means the egg rotated while the inking occurred.

Eggs in Purgatory

Eggs in Purgatory, 2008

In a rehabbed Spur station outside the small town of Kindred, three semi-desperate, forty-plus women have launched the Cackleberry Club.
Eggs are the morning specialty here : fluffy omelets, slumbering volcanoes, toad in the hole, and eggs on a cloud. This cozy little café even offers a book nook and knitting nest, and business has been good. But two murders, a runaway girl, a vicious widow, and a messianic cult leader just might lead to their undoing.
