Celebrating the Egg

Burlesco Trio, 1994
(Terceto burlesco)
© José Antonio Pantoja Hernández
From Deterioration of nostalgia

Sarcastic painting depicting the midnight, candle lit madness of three drunkards celebrating the presence of an egg, which for many Cubans was the only source of nutrition during times of famine.
From Pantoja website

Pantoja started painting to protest the cuban government. He painted a series to represent the dire situation of the people in Cuba. He chose to paint surrealistically because "speaking out loud would put you in jail in 1994".
"It's ironic that Fidel Castro made me create my art".
"Freedom is most important in my work".

Magnetic Egg against Depression ?

by Jason Stout/Thinkstock

"Welcome to the future of psychiatric care : low lights, an old massage table, and three spinning magnets. In a world seemingly awash in chemical solutions and all the hardship that has come to entail, prepare yourself for the rise of bioenergetic medicine. In the six-week, double-blind study sponsored by device manufacturer NeoSync, neither I nor the doctor administering treatment know if the ergonomic appliance vibrating on my head is generating a potentially therapeutic magnetic field or merely rattling in place."
