Discoveries

Roc's Nest
The nest of the legendary bird, the Roc

A single Roc egg is large enough to feed a whole town for a full lunar cycle. However, not many people are brave, or stupid, enough to try and steal an egg from the nest of this giant bird.
The Roc's Nest is the 21st discovery that Vyse can make.

"A bird of enormous size, bulky body and wide wings, flying in the air; and it was this that concealed the body of the sun and veiled it from the sun."
In the account of Marko Polo the wingspan of the roc was 16 yards and the feathers 8 yards, its feathers were as big as palm leaves. The wind was the rush of its wings and its flight was lightning. The bird is usually described as being white. The egg of the roc is said to be over 50 yards in circumference. The Roc could carry an elephant in its claws which it would kill by flying to a great height then dropping the unfortunate creature to crash to its death on the rocks below.
According to Arabic tradition, the Roc never lands on earth, only on the mountain Qaf, the center of the world.

Uguisu's Nest
Although this bird builds its nests in rock faces, for some reason they always travel northwards to human civilizations to raise their young. That is why sailors have learned to recognize these nests as signs that a human city is nearby.
The Uguisu's Nest is the 38th discovery that Vyse can make.

Looper's Nest
Loopers are mysterious creatures, a species of monsters, rarely seen even by the most seasoned of sailors. They nest in the stone reefs, and their young stay in the nests until they mature. At birth, they are white, but change color as they grow older.
These bizarre tear-shaped creatures have many palette swap counterparts, each with varying levels of strength and elemental attributes fought in different locations in the game. Among many players of Skies of Arcadia, Loopers are infamous for their high dodge percent and their tendency to run away, making it difficult to defeat them.
The Loopers' Nest is the 59th discovery that Vyse can make.

From Skies of Arcadia, a Dreamcast role-playing video game, 2000
The game's story focuses around Vyse, a young pirate in a Jules Verne-inspired fantasy world, and his friends as they attempt to stop the Valuan Empire from reviving ancient weapons with the potential to destroy the world.
